Do Grocery Savings Cards Really Save Money?

I read that these cards are really bad when it comes to your personal information. I am really not a fan of megacorps knowing how or what I eat and tracking. I can't find all of the great articles about this but the following one does a pretty good job http://www.amadorbooks.com/nocardsh.htm

I would much rather pay an extra couple of pennies then let companies run wild with my personal information!

I think it all depends on how much you value your privacy.  Many people are probably unaware of the information that is transmitted with their purchases.

On one hand, companies can better cater to us if they have more information on what we buy, but in reality, the only interest they have is in padding their bottom line.

I guess you have to decide if the savings is worth the lack of privacy, and for many it is.  Especially with things the way they are these days.  We sure work to save money more than we did a few years ago!

My husband and I shop at Giant Eagle. They offer money off of gas for every $50 you spend. We also have a Walmart Supercenter. I have noticed that Walmart has alot of the staple food that we buy for cheaper but their meat products aren't always the best. I have noticed that I save a lot of money in gas each month. Also, when you buy gas at their gas station, they give you percent off your groceries. It's a really good system that has saved us money.
